What Does Cryolipolysis Mean

What Is Cryolipolysis?

Cryolipolysis is a cosmetic surgery treatment that is commonly used to destroy fat cells by performing “fat freezing” on them. This is the principle of controlled application of cooling within the temperature range of 5 to -11 degrees Celcius. This non invasive type of fat freezing ensures the reduction of fat deposits, which helps to reshape the contours of the body.  The exposure to cooling causes the death of the fat cells. Avoiding any apparent damage to the overlying skin on the body.

Evidence supports that it is most effective at 3 to 4 months after the process has been completed and it is primarily applicable to limited discrete fat bulges on the body.

The common side effects of cryolipolysis include redness, bruising and numbness of the skin after the procedure. The side effects will subside within a month of the procedure and everything should return to normal prior to your cosmetic treatment.
